Happy Pioneer Day

We had a great 24th of July. We went to the Wilson's house for a BBQ and swimming. The kids had so much fun. I hadn't been able to dress up the kids on the 4th of July because we were in the hospital with Addison so it was fun to get them all ready and do their pictures. Later that night we went to Grandma Lori's house. Their neighbors always do a huge firework show that we love to watch. The kids had such great time.

Gabe swam with Jackson and Hailey. They had so much fun. The kids never wanted to leave.

Jackson's Haircut

So, I go in to check on Jack and he is in his room next to the rocking horse. He looks at me with this very guilty look. That is when I see that he has a pair of scissors and is cutting the horses hair . So I go over there to take the scissors away and I finally really look at Jack. I could not believe what I see. As you can see from the pictures he had cut it all the way down to his scalp. Normally it would not have been that big of a deal, except for that fact that I was getting pictures of the kids taken two days later. I ended up having to buzz his whole head, because there is just no way to blend that in.

TWO WEEKS OLD

Addison is two weeks old. She is still a good baby. We can't really decide who she looks like yet, she is still changing a lot.

Jackson, our little man.

Jackson is almost 5. He is such a fun person to be around. He finds such joy in things. Gabe is glad to have his little man to do things with. Jackson is all boy. He loves to be with Gabe whenever he is working out in the garage. Jackson is constantly wearing his "worker" clothes, which consist of his snow boots, work gloves, work pants, and as many tools as he can get to fit in his tool belt. He also has to take his "worker" things with him wherever he goes, just in case something needs to be fixed. Lately he is expanding his play time to include dressing up like a soldier, a ninja, or a policeman. He loves to ride his bike and wants to be outside all of the time. His favorite thing to eat lately are otter-pops. He would eat a whole package in one day if we let him. He is getting to be so grown up. He still has one more year of preschool because his birthday is not until November, but I will be glad to have him at home for a little bit longer because he is such a good help with his new little sister. He has always loved little babies. Jackson is such a sweet little boy. He has always been sensitive to other peoples feelings and is always trying to make people happy.

Our Princess Hailey

Hailey is getting so big. She is almost 3. She is such a sweet girl and already so grown up. She loves to dress up and is always wanting to wear dresses so that she can be a princess. You can always tell where Hailey is in the house because she has to wear her princess shoes all of the time. I took the time to straighten Hailey's hair today. It takes such a long time to do because she hates the sound of the blow dryer, so I have to put it on low. I also have to use the straightener other wise it is still wavy and total pageant hair because it is so big. She loves to do funny poses and always has her arms out to the sides. Hailey is so smart, she picks up things so quickly. She has been able to sing her ABC's and count to 10 since she first turned 2, she also remembers the words to songs she hears on the radio. It is so funny because you'll be driving in the car and hear her singing along to the songs. She also is very determined when she has a project in mind. When she was first trying to change her babies diapers she would sit there for a good 20 minutes getting it put on just right. I was worried before we brought Addison home that she would try to take over being the little mommy that she is, but she has done really well. She takes care of her own baby dolls right along side of me. She has been a big help, always wanting to get me the things I need. Some of Hailey's favorite things right now are her Carebears, Cinderella, Mulan, and any makeup or lotions. I have to keep the upstairs bathroom doors shut because otherwise she gets into my makeup bag and is constantly trying to get any lotions or soaps that she can get her hands on. One time I came up stairs and my bathroom door was shut, I opened the door and she had dumped out a new bottle of lotion on the floor and then smeared it over every cabinet door, in my drawer, and all over herself. If you don't know where Hailey is at she is usually hiding somewhere with something she is not supposed to have, so you call her name and she yells back "Nothing", which means you need to find her quickly because she is doing something naughty. Overall though Hailey is such a sweet little girl. She gives the best hugs and is always quick to say sorry when she has done something bad. She loves to help with anything that needs to be done. It is never quiet when Hailey is around, she always has something to say or a song to sing.

Fun in the Sun.

Gabe's sister Carly got this fun water slide. The kids have had so much fun on it. Hailey loves the water. Jackson has so much fun jumping off of the top trying to make it all the way to the bottom.

Whenever Addison is awake she is always so alert. She is such a good baby, always taking everything in. She will just sit and look around. She hardly ever cries, and grandma swears she already smiles.

Addison with Jackson and Hailey at home.

Addison's first day home. Jackson and Hailey went out of town with Grandma and Grandpa Reichert right after Addison was born, so this is the first time they had seen Addison after she had a bath. They love their little sister.

Addison coming home.

We brought Addison home on Saturday, July 5th. It looks like she hated her car seat, but she was actually just yawning. She was so worn out by the time we got home.
